What is a first look, should you consider having one?
We often have couples who come into the studio, and are completely undecided on having a first look. Here’s our take on it;
A first look is when a the bride and groom sees each other on the wedding day before the actual ceremony. It is a private moment for the pair, away from their friends and family. Although some couples still practice the time-honoured tradition of not seeing the bride before she walks down the wedding aisle for good luck, some couples do want a private moment before the ceremony to calm the wedding jitters and share an intimate moment between each each other.
Below are three reasons why you should have one;
- Timing- the first time your other half sees you can be quite overwhelming. It’s a great way to share that moment with just the two of you without the pressure of everyone staring and getting through the ceremony.
- Practicality- Having a first look enables you to take a lot of photos and footage before the ceremony, so that you can get to the reception sooner.
- Natural Lighting at its best- Your photos and video footage always looks best when there’s plenty of natural light. If you’re having a winter wedding, first look footage is important, as the sun sets pretty early. So having a first look, allows you the perfect opportunity to take gorgeous photos in the sun.
